Tree Plantation Extension Activity

With the heavenly blessings of Sant Baba Dlawar Singh ji (Brahm ji), and with the benign patronage of our Honorable Chancellor, Sant Baba Manmohan Singh ji and under the spirited leadership of our dynamic Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Dharmjit Singh Parmar ji and under the able guidance and support of Registrar Prof (Dr.) Aneet Kumar and Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Dhir and Dean UIET Prof. (Dr.) Jagdeep Kaur, a tree plantation drive was organized by the in Village Daroli Kalan. This noble initiative was carried out on 13/09/2024, aiming to contribute to a greener and more sustainable environment.
A total of 18 students from various departments of the university, along with 3 faculty members, participated in the event. The faculty members leading the activity were Er. Manpreet Singh, Er. Neelam Rani, and Gurpreet Singh (Lab Tech.). The participants planted a variety of saplings, including fruit-bearing and shade-providing trees, contributing to the beautification and environmental sustainability of the village.
The event was part of the university's ongoing efforts to foster environmental awareness and encourage students to take active roles in community service. The students enthusiastically engaged in the plantation activity, understanding the significance of trees in combating climate change, improving air quality, and preserving the natural ecosystem.
As the trees were planted, one could feel a shared sense of responsibility toward nature. The saplings planted today will not only enhance the village's greenery but also serve as a reminder of the university's commitment to social and environmental causes.
As an inspiring reminder, "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now." This quote encapsulates the importance of immediate action in preserving our environment for future generations.
The drive concluded with a vote of thanks to the village community for their cooperation, and the participants left with a renewed sense of commitment to protecting and nurturing the environment.
